General information

Cochin Airport is the busiest airport in Kerala (“God’s Own Country”). The state of Kerala is one of the richest and most developed regions in India, popular with both Indian and foreign tourists. The airport is located near Kochi and about half way between Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode. Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode are the three largest cities in Kerala. Kochi was called Cochin until 1996, hence the name of the airport. Cochin Airport is the world’s first airport fully powered by solar energy.

Where is Cochin Airport situated?

The airport is located in the south of India northeast of Kochi. By road, Cochin Airport can be reached via motorway 544 and Airport Road.

How many terminals does Cochin Airport have?

Cochin Airport consists of three terminals known as T1 Domestic Terminal, T2 Business Jet Terminal and T3 International Terminal. Terminal 3 is a modern terminal opened in 2017, a beautiful building in Kerala style. The Arrivals hall is located on the ground floor, the Departures hall on the upper floor. In Terminal 3 Departures you will find 9 life-size elephants statues. Before you board the plane, you can take some rest in one of the many comfortable seats in Terminal 3. The terminals at Cochin Airport are within walking distance of each other, it is a 5-minute walk between T1 Domestic Terminal and T3 International Terminal.
