Brazil
Brazil is the largest country in South America by population and area. In the west of the country is the Amazon rainforest and in the east you will find the beautiful coastlines and the famous beaches of Rio de Janeiro, such as Copacabana and Ipanema. The capital of Brazil is Brasília, but this is not the main city of the country. While everyone is familiar with Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo is the country’s financial center. With more than 20 million inhabitants, the metropolis of São Paulo is the largest metropolis in the Americas (larger than Lima and Mexico City). It is therefore not surprising that the two busiest airports in Brazil are located in São Paulo: Guarulhos Airport (international flights) and Congonhas Airport (domestic flights). Brazil’s most popular sport is football, the national team’s nicknames are A Seleção (The National Team) and Canarinho (Little Canary).
