Jordan, officially the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, is located between the countries of Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Israel and Palestine in the Middle East. The capital of Jordan is Amman, more than 4 million people live in this city. Amman is known for its delicious food (Levantine cuisine), the King Abdullah I Mosque, Citadel of Amman and Amman’s Roman Theatre. However, Jordan’s biggest attractions are closer to Aqaba, namely Wadi Rum, Petra and Little Petra (Siq al-Berid). The largest airports in the country are Amman Queen Alia Airport and Aqaba King Hussein Airport. Royal Jordanian and Jordan Aviation are two airlines based in Jordan. Nowadays, Ryanair offers many connections to and from European destinations.
