Bus to Debrecen
You can use bus number 1 (R1) and bus number 2 (R2) of the public transport company DKV to travel quickly and easily between Debrecen Airport and the city. Airport bus number 1 takes 12 minutes from the airport to the main railway station (Nagyállomás). Airport bus number 2 runs between Debrecen Airport and ‘Doberdó utca’ bus stop in the northern part of Debrecen, on its way you can get off at Debrecen railway station and ‘Hatvan utca’. This bus stop is centrally located and only a 20-minute drive from the airport. The buses coincide with all flights arrivals and departures at Debrecen Airport, but buses won’t wait for delayed flights.
Tickets cost 550 HUF and are available from the bus driver. If you stay for more than one day in Debrecen, do not hesitate to buy a 1-day ticket (1,500 HUF), 3-day ticket (3,200 HUF) or 7-day ticket (4,000 HUF) for public transport at one of the DKV sales points in the city. Here it is also possible to buy a cheaper one-way journey ticket for 460 HUF. Tickets are valid on all (trolley)buses and trams within the city limits of Debrecen. The centre of the city and most hotels are located north of the main railway station. From the central station you can take tram 1 and tram 2 to the north of Debrecen. If you have to be in the city centre, you can get off at tram stop ‘Kossuth tér’, this is the main square of Debrecen. Please consult website and timetables bus 1 and bus 2 for more information.
