Delhi Indira Gandhi Airport is the busiest airport in India and one of the largest airports in Asia. The airport has four runways and three terminals known as Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. The airport is named after Indira Gandhi (1917 – 1984), the first female prime minister of India. A significant part of the flights at Delhi Indira Gandhi Airport are operated by Air India and IndiGo. There are many accommodations at the airport, the best hotels are located in Aerocity between T1 and T2/T3.

The airport is located in the southwest of New Delhi, about halfway Old Delhi and Gurugram/Gurgaon. By car, Delhi Indira Gandhi Airport can be reached via the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway (NH48).
How many terminals does Delhi Indira Gandhi Airport have?
The airport has three terminals, namely Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. Terminal 3 is a modern terminal opened in 2010, all international flights depart from Terminal 3 (including British Airways, American Airlines and United Airlines). After arrival you will get via Immigration, Duty Free, Baggage Claim and Customs to the public part of Terminal 3. The Arrivals hall of Terminal 3 is located on the ground floor, the Departures hall on the upper floor. Terminal 2 is located opposite Terminal 3 International. Terminals T2 and T3 are within walking distance of each other (7 to 8 minutes), Terminal 1 is located in the east of the airport complex. Terminal 1 has recently been modernized and consists of Terminal 1 Arrivals and Terminal 1 Departures. A free airport shuttle bus runs between the terminals every 20 minutes. The shuttle bus between terminals T1, T2 and T3 is intended for departing passengers (and transfers), not for arriving passengers.
