The most popular ski resorts near Zurich Airport

Zurich Airport is the largest airport in Switzerland. The quality of the rail network in Switzerland is excellent. The train connections to many major ski areas are most of the times very good. If you do not want to travel by train from the airport, there are plenty of other options such as shuttle buses, taxis and rental cars. A taxi or rental car is ideal if your holiday destination is not easily accessible by train.

Ski area Bettmeralp (beginners & family)

With the Betermeralp quality mark ‘Familienparadies’, ski resort Bettmeralp is especially the perfect ski area for children. Cars are forbidden in the village which contributes to the child-friendly atmosphere. Also, the view on the slopes is breathtaking which makes Bettmeralp a fantastic holiday destination.

If you drive to this ski area by car, you will have to park your vehicle in Betten-Tal. A large gondola will take you to the village.

Characteristics of the ski area
Bettmeralp offers an all-round offer. The ski area has a freestyle park, a speed track where your speed is measured, beautiful trips for cross-country skiing and a children’s area in the middle of the village. The facilities are also of good quality, and due to the central location, you can quickly be on your way to your next stop by cable car.

The ski area is particularly attractive with charming villages including authentic wooden chalets. And because the roofs are most of the year covered with snow, this village looks like it came straight out of a fairytale.

Because Bettmeralp is very child-friendly, there are many blue runs with drag lifts and conveyor belts. Because of this, you will not notice a lot of crowds which is very pleasant.
Because the ski area presents itself as a child-friendly area, you will have little après-ski possibilities.
