General information

Detroit Metro Airport is the largest airport in the US state of Michigan. The airport consists of six runways and two terminals, namely McNamara Terminal and Evans Terminal. McNamara Terminal (Concourse A) also known as Northwest WorldGateway is 1 mile / 1.6 kilometres in length and the second longest terminal in the world after Terminal 1 of Osaka Kansai Airport. The airport is mainly used by Delta Air Lines (McNamara Terminal). Detroit is Michigan’s largest city and known as Motor City, the headquarters of the “Big Three” carmakers in the United States (Ford, General Motors, Chrysler FCA) are located in Detroit.

Detroit Metro Airport is located southwest of the city, close to Detroit Industrial Expressway (Interstate 94).

How many terminals does Detroit Metro Airport have?

Detroit Metro Airport has two terminals, known as McNamara Terminal (Concourses A, B, C) and Evans Terminal (Concourse D). Free shuttle buses run every 10 minutes between the terminals, leaving from the Ground Transportation Centers and Hotel Westin Detroit Metropolitan Airport. McNamara Terminal is the largest of both terminals and consists of two parts, the satellite terminal (Concourses B, C) can be reached via an underground tunnel from the main terminal (Concourse A). McNamara Terminal (Concourse A) is 1 mile / 1.6 kilometres long, you can use moving walkways and the ExpressTram to get around a bit faster. The ExpressTram runs from North Station near gate A67 to South Station near gate A11 and also stops in the middle at Terminal Station, here you can access Ground Transportation Center and the tunnel to boarding gates B and C. McNamara Terminal is one of the hubs of Delta Air Lines and is considered one of the most beautiful terminals in the US.
