Bus to Dublin
If you don’t have much luggage it is possible to travel with bus line 16 or bus line 41, both operated by Dublin Bus. These buses are a cheap alternative to the express bus services, while being nearly as fast. The buses depart regularly from the airport and out of the city, on average every 15 minutes. The bus stop is located at the bus station (Zone 15) in front of Terminal 1. The final stop of bus line 16 is Ballinteer (Kingston), the stop in the city centre (O’Connell Street) can be reached in approximately 45 minutes. Bus line 41 runs to Abbey Street Lower in the centre of the city, the journey time is 45 minutes. Tickets cost € 2.60 per person and are available from the bus driver. You can only pay with cash, preferably the exact amount. The bus ride is more economical (€ 2.00) if you are in possession of a reusable plastic Leap Card. Nowadays, you can also take bus route 19 between Dublin Airport and Merrion Square in the city centre. Bus route 19 runs 24 hours a day, on average every 20 minutes. Dublin Express to Dublin – BUY TICKETS
There are two express bus providers between the airport and the city centre, namely Dublin Express and Aircoach. Dublin Express runs 24 hours a day every 10 minutes from Terminal 1 and takes you via Terminal 2 and Dublin Port Tunnel to the city centre. In the centre of Dublin you can get off at 10 different city stops, depending on which the journey time is 25 to 45 minutes. For example, you can get off at the stops Aston Quay (O’Connell Bridge and Trinity College) and Wellington Quay (Temple Bar and Dublin Castle), the journey time from the airport to these stops is 30 minutes from Terminal 1 and 25 minutes from Terminal 2. Tickets can be bought online and at the airport, the prices are listed below. Please note these are starting prices. There is sufficient space for luggage on board the bus, you can also use free WiFi. Heuston Rail Station (Bus Route 782), one of the two main railway stations in Dublin, is one of the Dublin Express bus stops. The train station offers good rail links to Waterford, Cork, Limerick, Galway and other places in Ireland. Nowadays, Route 783, Route 784 and Route 785 (Belfast service) of Dublin Express also provide a link between Dublin Airport and the city centre. Aircoach to Belfast, Derry and Cork
It is also possible to travel directly by coach from Dublin Airport to Belfast, Derry and Cork. Aircoach offers bus services to and from these cities every day of the year except December 25th. The Aircoach bus stops can be found in front of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The journey time to Belfast Grand Central Station is 1 hour and 50 minutes (Route 705X, 17 times per day). It takes 3.5 hours to Cork (Route 704X, 16 times per day) and 4 hours to Derry (Route 705X, 12 times per day). Keep in mind the following fares for a one-way trip: € 17.00 to Belfast, € 22.00 to Cork and € 24.00 to Derry. Citylink is another well-known bus company, providing direct services to Limerick (2.5 hours), Galway (3 hours) and Cork (3 hours). Translink also operates services to Derry/Londonderry.
