Eilat Ramon Airport is a new airport, officially opened by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on January 21, 2019. It is the replacement of Eilat Ovda Aiport 60 kilometres north of the city and Eilat J. Hozman Airport in the centre of the city. These airports have been closed. Eilat Ovda Airport was used for international flights and Eilat J. Hozman Airport for domestic flights.

Eilat Ramon Airport is the first airport ever built on Israeli territory, named after father Ilan Ramon (pilot and astronaut) and son Assaf Ramon (pilot). Public buses run between the airport and the city, a rail link is planned.

The airport is located north of Eilat, close to the Red Sea, Jordan and Egypt. By car, you can reach the airport through Highway 90, the longest Israeli and Palestinian road.

Eilat Ramon Airport has one modern terminal, consisting of a Departures area (Door 31, 32) and an Arrivals area (Door 33, 34). The airport has eight boarding gates (1 to 8) on the ground floor of the terminal, accessible via escalators in the Departures hall.
