General information

Frankfurt Airport is located southwest of the city and is operated by transport company Fraport. Frankfurt Airport is one of the busiest airports in Europe, finding your way at the airport is not that easy.

Where is Frankfurt Airport situated?

The airport is situated southwest of Frankfurt, next to the A3 motorway. Other cities close to the airport are Wiesbaden, Darmstadt and Mainz.

How many terminals does Frankfurt Airport have?

The airport consists of Terminal 1 (A, B, C, Z) and Terminal 2 (D, E). Terminal 1 has four floors, Level 0 Airport City Mall, Level 1 Arrivals, Level 2 Departures (T1A, T1B, T1C) and Level 3 Departures (T1Z). Passengers can use the SkyLine Terminal Transfer monorail to transfer between the terminals, besides shuttle buses run between both terminals. The airport has four runways, the new Terminal 3 will be opened in 2026. Terminal 3 consists of a main building and three piers (Flugsteig G, Flugsteig H, Flugsteig J), the capacity is 19 million passengers a year. After the opening of Terminal 3, Terminal 2 will be temporarily shut down for renovation work.

TIP: If you want to use public transport more often and benefit from discounts on museums, city tours, restaurants, shops and more, then the Frankfurt Card for 1 day (€ 12.00) or 2 days (€ 19.00) is recommended. You can also use the card for the journey to and from Frankfurt Airport.
