Bus to Gothenburg
You can travel between the airport and Gothenburg by public transport, but you’ll need to change buses once. The first step is bus line 612 from Gothenburg Landvetter Airport to Landvetter resecentrum. Bus line 612 is operated by Västtrafik and departs from the bus stop in front of the terminal. Travel time from the airport to bus station Landvetter resecentrum is 15 minutes. Here you can change to bus Röd express in the direction of Lilla Varholmen (via Gothenburg and Volvo Torslanda), the bus runs every 15 minutes to and from Gothenburg. It takes another 25 minutes to get to Gothenburg train station and 30 minutes to the city centre. The total journey time including one transfer is at least 50 minutes.
Public transport tickets
You need a ticket for zone AB (Gothenburg Landvetter Airport = zone B), this ticket is valid for 180 minutes. The price is 70 SEK for adults and 52 SEK for children from 6 up to 19 years. Tickets can be purchased in the Västtrafik To Go app. You can also buy tickets from the bus driver, then you will pay 84 SEK for adults or 62 SEK for children from 6 up to 19 years. Children up to 5 years of age travel for free on public transport in Gothenburg and surroundings. Flygbussarna to Gothenburg – BUY TICKETS
If you want to go to Gothenburg faster and without having to change buses, you can choose between Flygbussarna, FlixBus and Vy Bus4You / Express. Because Flygbussarna is the most frequent, travellers prefer this bus service, even though online tickets via FlixBus and Vy Buss are slightly cheaper. Flygbussarna runs every 12 to 30 minutes to Gothenburg. The bus makes four stops in the city, the last stop (Nils Ericson Terminalen) is located next to Gothenburg Central Station. The journey between the airport and Göteborg C takes 30 minutes. The penultimate stop (Kungsportsplatsen) after 26 minutes is situated in the centre of the city.
Flygbussarna tickets
Tickets can be purchased in advance through the Flygbussarna website or at one of the ticket vending machines at the airport. Children up to 7 years may travel free of charge if accompanied by an adult, with a maximum of two children per adult. The online rates are shown below. After arriving in Gothenburg, you can use your Flygbussarna ticket for 90 minutes on public transportation in the city, thanks to the cooperation with public transport company Västtrafik. FlixBus to Borås and Jönköping
The cities of Borås and Jönköping are directly accessible by bus, several times a day FlixBus offers you this option. Seven days a week, 10 times per day on average, there is a bus to and from Gothenburg Landvetter Airport. Travel time to ‘Borås Resecentrum’ near the railway station and the city centre of Borås is 30 to 35 minutes.
