I am an electric wheelchair user, the full details of the lithium batteries were correctly entered by the airline (SAS) and i carry an IATA official confirmation that clearly shows 2 batteries each not exceeding 300Wh can be carried in hand luggage. I am well aware of this and have been flying with these for the past 4 years.
At check in I was subject to immediate abusive behaviour over the batteries despite showing the IATA document (batteries are rated at 240 Wh each, well within the limit).
Then followed over 2 hours of being told a supervisor (who despite my demands to talk directly never appeared). By this time it looked like we would miss our flight. Eventually a very kind ( the only one) desk clerk helped us as by now I had got SAS customer service on the phone and the clerk liased on my phone with SAS and on hers with the phantom " supervisor ".
By now my wife was distraught and I was close to collapsing, we finally reached the gate as boarding started, nearly 3 hours after starting check-in.
In addition, this was the second time we have flown into LPA, each time on arrival my wheelchair has been dumped on the road outside arrivals, the claim being that the belts cannot accommodate electric wheelchairs. Ay least this time we were aware of this, the first time we nearly missed our connection as the so called arrivals hall customer service were extremely un helpful.
I will be making formal complaint to the airport Managing Director, copied to SAS, IATA and press.

Stay away from this airport absolute joke we nearly missed flight the que at security is joke never again hate the place

The check in desk was closed when I arrived .
The food store leon served me food that contained hair.
The perfume counter lady offered samples to only white women and and ignored my black wife.
