Very well run airport. Easy to return hire car via parking sul 6th floor; bit of a truck to check in which was super efficient and quick; departure lounge well served with snack bars - Starbucks, pain quotidian ( excellent coffee), Burger King, la Pana Rosa etc.
Seating all fairly hard - a busy place- nice view of sea which is a turgid brown at this point…
Plenty of light, some nice planting. Pretty good!
All'andata arrivati alle 19,45 non abbiamo potuto cenare bar in chiusura e quelli aperti sold out.
An embarrassment for the country. The staff was rude and had an attitude especially a brunette lady with wavy hair!! 0 stars
Chaotic passport control, about 30 new tech passport registration booths, about a quater or less were actaully funtional.Airport staff generally disinterested and left passengers to struggle.
Try to avoid at all costs, senior managemet should resign or be sacked
I have flown to Schiphol many times, but the last time, I felt mistreated as a European citizen. I am Spaniard and was coming from Curacao, I was questioned or searched three times, as if I were a criminal or an illegal immigrant. They asked me if I was going to work in the Netherlands, which could be perfectly legal, except that I am retired and the last thing I want to do is work in the Netherlands, especially at 65 years of age. I believe that the xenophobic and extremist policies that are taking hold in Europe are turning the Netherlands into a shitty country.
I’m giving DFW Airport 1 star due to the extreme disorganization and poor logistics I experienced during my 12-hour overnight layover.
To be fair, the airport does have positives: the Skylink train is fast and easy to use, there are plenty of restrooms, and the food and retail options are solid. Unfortunately, none of that makes up for the chaos I had to deal with.
During my layover, my departure gate changed four separate times across multiple terminals — forcing me to repeatedly take the Skylink between A, B, D, and C. This meant little to no rest during an already long layover. The final gate change happened less than an hour before boarding, which was incredibly stressful and unnecessary.
As someone who travels frequently, this was the most disorganized airport experience I’ve ever had. No passenger should have to chase their flight across four terminals overnight. I hope DFW seriously reevaluates its operational communication and gate management, because the current setup caused a level of inconvenience and exhaustion that was completely avoidable.
ESPERIENZA PESSIMW
Awful end of a good holiday.
Third year in a row visiting Lanzarote. Every time it’s been the same: easy arrival, relatively quick picking up bags. Traveling between Schengen countries means no passport control. Very smooth every time.
Departure, on the other hand; complete nightmare. Check-in opens two hours before planned departure. If your plane is delayed, check-in is delayed.
They mix different flights into the same check-in desks, meaning there will be a huge mix of travelers in the few designated desks, with flights departing at different times. And you can’t sit and wait until the line is shortening, as a new, later flight will also be sorted through these desks. Check-in is slow: 300passengers for two different flights took 1 hour and 45 minutes to get through. Time for scheduled boarding was already passed before we got through check-in.
Fast security check.
Run to find one of the few boards showing which gate to use, run to gate as last call already was blinking. No time for toilet visits, food, shopping or buying water.
Get shoveled into a shuttle bus. Doors closed. And there we stood, for 35 minutes like barreled herring in searing heat with no AC while the driver was happily strolling around on the outside. He did leave his window open, though, to let the exhaust fumes inside.
Shuttle bus finally moves, drives to plane, people get ready to leave bus, but no. Another 20 minutes waiting. While driver goes outside to stand in the shade of the bus because it’s so hot.
Every year. Every year some variation of this have occurred. Every time with almost two hours in line waiting, running like an idiot to gate, only to be shoved into a full shuttle with various amounts of waiting.
Delays are constructed by the airport. The amount of stress equals the relaxation you had on an otherwise good holiday. You will need a new holiday after this experience.
Oh, btw: all visits done during off-season. I dread how it will be during the real holidays.
Two stars only because arrival is always smooth.
Absolutely incompetent. The new EU EES (Entry Exit System) is now being put into service. It took an Hour and 10 minutes to get through arrivals passport control. Firstly they asked some people to use the biometric scanners that were in the waiting area. Whether this was used or not made absolutely no difference to waiting time. Everyone who used them was sent back into the queue. At the border guard kiosk, all was done again. Allegedly this was to confirm what had already been scanned regardless of whether you had used the biometric scanner! In addition the usual passport checking and stamping was done.
Whilst I might be able to excuse the length of time it took by agreeing to the double checking in order to confirm the system was working, it was difficult to justify when leaving Germany through Frankfurt was just as bad with the same lengthy queue.
My wife has an EU passport and was able to go through in just 5 minutes in either direction.
Surely having been scanned and checked on the way in, I should simply have to submit my biometric data again and go on my way to security check.
The UK end took just 5 minutes for me and my wife to get through passport control at Heathrow.
Given Germany's reputation for efficiency it is hard to credit them with anything other than being good at wasting time
Furthermore, the signs at Frankfurt airport are at best misleading or simply not shown, leaving travellers to search around the airport for a sign that might lead them to the desired destination.
I would have left 0 stars as a rating but that is not an option!
Nell'area attesa Gate A6- A8 e A9 - A11 ; bisognerebbe aggiungere posti a sedere
2 hours wait for passport control
Coming in, and water at 5 euros a litre with no fountain in departure lounge. This place is from the Stone Age, disgusting
Last month, my wife and I took a trip to South Africa. It’s a dream destination with breathtaking landscapes and animals, which of course means safaris. In short, before we could enjoy these incredible pleasures, we had to get there. We booked our tickets months in advance through an online travel agency. Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience and encountered the worst possible circumstances. Lufthansa was to fly us there, which in itself was epic. Not to mention the stopovers on both the outbound and return flights. We departed from CDG for Johannesburg via Frankfurt and its airport. What a nightmare! It was the worst possible experience. Right from the start, our flight was delayed for reasons unknown. The delay was initially 1 hour and 15 minutes, but was reduced to 25 minutes. You learn on the tarmac that arrivals are in the first terminals, A, B, etc., but international flights take off from the last terminals, X, Y, Z, and that’s when you realize the size of this airport. We barely made our outbound flight, and what we didn’t know yet was that our luggage wasn’t as lucky as we were. It arrived two days later, but we had already filed a complaint with the airline about this.
On the return trip, there were no delays, but we don’t know why the screening and orientation procedures were different. We had to wait in line again to have our luggage searched, despite the tight schedule. People who arrived after us were going through before us—it was a real circus. And then there was the racial profiling, let’s face it; I would have thought it was because I’m a man of color… Well, no, it was my wife, who is white. Apparently, a spicy sauce she bought at the duty-free shop in Johannesburg reacted to explosives. We thought it was a bad joke, but no, they wouldn’t budge. And it was a young girl, about 20/22 years old, who was in charge of this and who decided to go after my wife, threatening her that if she didn’t lower her voice, she would miss her flight and even worse, because a young cop who must have watched too many episodes of Derrick decided to get involved and play tough. My wife burst into tears, and I could see the glee in the eyes of this low-level cop who was a perfect match for this young woman. Anyway, I join my wife and tell her that there’s no point in getting upset, that we’ll be home soon, and I look at these two poor airport employees whose lives are so miserable and boring that their greatest thrill is to play with the little influence and power they have at that moment. I look at my wife and say to her, “Listen, you and I have been traveling the world for years and we’re not done yet. They’re stuck here searching through the luggage of people like you and me. Believe me, we’re where we belong, and they’ll end up here. I’ve never had any grievances against Germans in the past, but now I do. I’ve always refused to learn their language, even though I speak eight. I have vague memories of visiting the Brandenburg Gate when I was young. But now there’s no way I’m setting foot in that country or that airport again, no matter what. It doesn’t matter if I’m generalizing about one incident, when you do this job you have to be beyond reproach, and they are far from it.
I’m going to blacklist Lufthansa and Frankfurt Airport—the whole country, in fact! I found myself dreaming of hurting the people who attacked my wife. They brought out the worst in me. That is the sad conclusion of our trip to South Africa. Apart from that, it was very pleasant and unforgettable.
Data 31.11.2025 volo W45042 con 2 ragazze indisponenti e offensive all' check in.
L'unico aeroporto dove paghi i primi 10 minuti.
I miei complimenti
Serious Concerns: Discrimination & Unfair Treatment
I have passed through Sofia Airport twice, and in both instances I was singled out as a visibly non-white, non-EU passenger — but on 23 November (Sofia → Bari, flight scheduled at 14:55) I experienced something deeply troubling. I had paid in advance for a cabin bag, confirmed its size using the official sizer, and followed Ryanair’s baggage rules. Despite that, airport staff demanded €75 extra and held my passport and residence permit for a long time. I was forced to leave my bag behind before they returned my documents. This felt intimidatory, demeaning, and more punitive than procedural.
My concern is not just personal — there is a documented pattern of service failures at Sofia Airport:
In 2022, the airport launched a full investigation after Naomi Campbell publicly raised concerns of racial discrimination at the airport.
(Novinite)
In 2025, Bulgaria’s aviation authority conducted emergency inspections of ground-handling companies operating there, citing “numerous deficiencies” in passenger service and announced fines.
Ryanair gate-staff are incentivized to identify oversized baggage: they receive bonuses for every bag they deem too large, and gate-check fees can reach €75. (The Guardian)
Advice to other non-white or non-EU travelers:
Document everything — measure your bag, keep receipts, take photos, and write down names or badge numbers. Be ready to escalate with written complaints (Sofia Airport management + Ryanair) if you face unfair or discriminatory behavior.
