Hangzhou is a large city in the east of China, not far from Shanghai, the most populous city in the country. The airport has two runways and four terminals. In 2024, Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport handled 48 million passengers. Hangzhou is sometimes confused with Guangzhou in the south of China, the “zhou” in their names means state or province.
