Heraklion Airport is the second-busiest airport in Greece, located in the north of Crete. In 2027 Heraklion Airport will be replaced by a new airport near the village of Kastelli. Heraklion, Iraklio in Greek, has about 175,000 inhabitants. There are two airports on the island, the other is Chania Airport in the west.
