I hate this airport with all my heart. My mother was disabled and we flew through them. No one helped, the girls on the staff for people with limited mobility did not help at all, there was no stroller, and we missed the flight, although we arrived 4 hours early. They are just bastards and they don't care about anyone and don't know a damn thing. We sat in front of them for several hours and even if you die, they don't care. Nasty people. Don't fly through this airport.
I am Radice Angela a 100% disabled person.
on May 3, 2024 with Turkish flight TK1878 I arrive in Istanbul where I take Uzbekistan Airways flight HY280 and arrive in Urgench. The electric motor of the wheelchair, vital for the autonomy of my movements, did not arrive.
I spent the entire holiday without the support of the drive wheel, with related inconveniences.
the electric motor arrived only on Thursday 10 May in the evening in Tashkent
On May 11th, I boarded flight HY273 to Istanbul with the wheelchair and its electric drive wheel in Tashken
Upon arrival in Istanbul I find my wheelchair but not the electric wheel. The support staff offers to take me to look for it and takes me from one office to another, even outside the transit area.
Suddenly I am left in front of the Turkish assistance desk and the assistant who accompanied me there abandons me.
At the assistance desk I was told that we were no longer in time for boarding and that they would give me a new ticket the next morning
The long night begins at Istanbul airport looking for a replacement ticket.
Neither Turkish Airlines nor Uzbekistan Airways held themselves responsible for the problem
In the meantime, helped by a kind assistant, I found the driving wheel but in poor condition, as evidenced by the complaint ISTTK32579 (damage quantified verbally, approximately 300.00)
After a night and a morning spent in a wheelchair without being able to lie down, I decided to purchase a new flight at my own expense to another airport in Istanbul (SAW), reached by taxi.
The discomfort of a night spent between the various offices always in a wheelchair, my husband’s struggle to find a return flight for 2 people €645.00
Nice airport, very clean. Lots of stages of security in the airport. Just object to being racially profiled at the gate. The member of staff spotted my Magen David (Star) necklace and she said "Judea?", I said, ".....yes...", she said "you need to go with my colleague", where I was searched and frisked. Not okay.
In general turkish people are unfriendly. But at least they should be nice at the airport.
Big airport you can get lost very easy and nobody will help you mostly if you are arminian kurdish or arabic .
They will trade you like shit .
From the cleaning guys to supervisors. All of them are rude.
I have been seeing a lot of people getting stuck in this airport. For a months .
I have never seeing rude people like them
Turkish airline doesn’t care about there customers, i was traveling with my infant as well as i was pregnant again. I was told while booking a wheelchair that i can carry my baby on the wheel chair throughout my journey. While reaching to istanbul airport i got to know that there is a rule that doesn’t allow baby on wheelchair. I was traveling all alone with an infant while i was pregnant again. The staff member was so so rude there was super arrogant, rude, ill mannered lady who didn’t even tried to listen to me even i tried to explain to her again and again that I cannot walk that much while carrying the baby but she didn’t even helped me and left me throwing my boarding pass on me.. i will never ever forget the worse behavior o faced for the first time in my life while traveling through this worse airline in the world.. the staff is super rude and arrogant they don't know how to talk to the passengers. They dont know what customer service is.. there is alot of language barrier and the staff use bad words in turkish language to there customers, turkish people are rude illiterate and dont care for anyone.. also the plane was dripping when we landed, the cabin crew didn’t showed up while calling them again and again.. no care for the oases at all.. it was my first experience with this stupid fucking airline and hopefully the last i will never ever fly with or recommend this airline to anyone else.. you guys don’t know how to treat passengers please learn from other airlines.. I’ve traveled with almost all the airlines but this was the worse experience of my life… and what is that stupid rule of no infant on the wheel chair there are people who cannot walk due to any reason and have babies with them.. in America they gave me wheelchair with the baby on my lap in other countries they do the same, then why your country so special about this stuff rule of no infant on lap or your staff isn’t capable of handling customers or are they scared that they will drop the baby.. please show some respect to the customers who pay their hard earnings to buy your stupid airline ticket.. and that lady will burn in hell for sure.. who’s behavior i will never forget in my whole life this airline should be banned from flying.. your staff needs proper training if you guys cannot handle customers that don’t offer services and waste time and energy of passengers...
