Bus and train to Baden-Baden, Karlsruhe and Strasbourg
A bus ride from the airport to the railway station of Baden-Baden (Baden-Baden Bahnhof) with bus line 215 takes 28 minutes. The price for a single trip in three zones is € 4.20 for adults and € 2.20 for children from 6 up to 14 years. On weekdays, the bus leaves the airport every hour from 06:40 hours to 23:20 hours. In the weekend and on public holidays the bus ride takes less time (18 minutes), but the bus runs less often. Bus tickets are available from the ticket vending machine at the bus stop in front of the terminal. At the train station you have to change to another bus to actually reach the city centre (Leopoldsplatz) of the spa town of Baden-Baden. This takes less than 15 minutes and you do not have to buy a new ticket, since a single ticket (Einzelfahrkarte) is valid for 180 minutes in one direction.
The busy Baden-Baden Bahnhof offers excellent connections within Germany and to France with ICE, IC, EC, RE, S-Bahn and TGV trains. This makes Karlsruhe in Germany and Strasbourg in France easily accessible from the train station. Travel time from Baden-Baden Bahnhof to Karlsruhe is 20 to 30 minutes, depending on which train you take. Strasbourg can be reached in 1 hour and 20 minutes, but you will need to change at Appenweier railway station. With the high-speed trains, Mannheim and Freiburg can be reached in just 40 to 45 minutes. Two other bus services operating to and from Karlsruhe Baden-Baden Airport are bus line 234 and bus line X34. Bus line 234 connects the airport with Hügelsheim, Iffezheim, Rastatt, Stollhofen and Schwarzach, bus line X34 runs from the airport to Hügelsheim, Rastatt, Stollhofen, Ulm (Lichtenau) and Bühl. At Bahnhof Rastatt you can change to the train in the direction of Karlsruhe. The Baden Airpark bus stops are located directly in front of the terminal.
