General information

Kota Kinabalu is a large city in Sabah on the island of Borneo. The city is also called KK, like Kuala Lumpur that is known as KL. The airport is located south of the city in Tanjung Aru. The city of Kota Kinabalu is relatively little visited by international tourists, unlike popular places such as Mount Kinabalu (climbing and orangutans) and Semporna Archipelago (diving and relaxing). For nature lovers, there is plenty to see around Kota Kinabalu, not just beautiful beaches.

The airport is located south of Kota Kinabalu, Jalan Kepayan road connects both places.

How many terminals does Kota Kinabalu Airport have?

The airport has two terminals, but only Terminal 1 handles passenger flights. Since December 2015, Terminal 2 is only used for cargo flights and General Aviation. T1 is a modern terminal consisting of three floors. The Arrivals hall is located on the ground floor, the check-in desks and Departures hall (Domestic / International) on the second floor.
