Lithuania

Lithuania

Lithuania is the most southern country of the Baltic states. The country borders Belarus, Poland and Russia in the south. This part of Russia (Kaliningrad and surroundings) is relatively unknown to most people. Lithuania is becoming increasingly popular. The most interesting sights are the cities of Vilnius, Kaunas and Hill of Crosses (close to Šiauliai) and Trakai Castle (close to Vilnius). In the summer you can relax on the coast, in Palanga and Nida on the Kuršių nerija peninsula. The country joined the eurozone in 2015, as the last of the three Baltic states. Lithuania has three airports used for international air traffic. These airports are located near the cities of Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga. Useful information about Vilnius Airport and Kaunas Airport can be found here.
