General information

Mactan Cebu Airport is the second busiest airport in the Philippines after Manila Ninoy Aquino Airport. The airport is of great importance to the Central Visayas region. The name is derived from the island where the airport is located (Mactan) and the nearby Cebu City where about 1 million people live. Mactan Cebu Airpot is home to low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific (and Cebgo). The island of Mactan has a historical value, it is the place where the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan was killed in a battle with chief Lapu-Lapu (1521).

Where is Mactan Cebu Airport situated?

The airport is located in Lapu-Lapu City on Mactan Island, east of Mandaue, Cebu City and Talisay. Mactan Cebu Airport is connected to the island of Cebu by the Osmeña Bridge and Marcelo Fernan Bridge.

How many terminals does Mactan Cebu Airport have?

The airport has two terminals located next to each other, namely Terminal 1 Domestic and Terminal 2 International. Terminal 2 is relatively new, the modern and beautiful terminal was put into use in 2018. You can walk via a covered walkway between the terminals or use the free shuttle buses (Premium Airport Bus) that run every 10 minutes.
