General information

Manchester Airport is the third busiest airport in the United Kingdom. The airport has three terminals, two runways and its own railway station called The Station. Manchester city centre is accessible by train, tram and taxi. Greater Manchester (Manchester, Bolton, Trafford, Stockport, Tameside, etc.) is with 2.9 million inhabitants the second largest urban area in the United Kingdom after Greater London. Where is Manchester Airport situated?

The airport is located south of the city and is easily accessible via the M56 and M60 motorways.

How many terminals does Manchester Airport have?

Manchester Airport has three terminals, known as Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 are next to each other, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are connected by ‘Skylink moving walkways’, a railway station (The Station) is located in between. Terminal 1 has two departure halls, Departures A (Check in 1-69 – All other airlines) and Departures B (Check in 70-108 – Jet2). Terminal 2 is the most modern terminal At Manchester Airport and will be expanded in the coming years, with the first of the three piers/concourses opened in 2019.

The walking distance between T1 and T3 is a maximum of 5 minutes, the walking distance between T1/T3 and Terminal 2 is 10 to 15 minutes. Once clearing security, it is not possible to walk from one terminal to another. Since 2019, the airport has a private terminal (PremiAir) situated west of the runways.
