Medellín José María Córdova Airport is the second busiest airport in Colombia, close to the city of Rionegro and at some distance from Medellín. However, the opening of Túnel De Oriente, the longest tunnel in Colombia, in August 2019 has resulted in a shorter journey time between from the airport to the city centre.
