Milan Malpensa Airport is the second busiest airport in Italy, after Rome Fiumicino Airport. The airport is conveniently located close to Lago Maggiore and Lago di Como, the centre of Milan is 50 kilometers away. The city centre can be reached by train (Malpensa Express), bus and taxi. The airport in Lombardy consists of two terminals and two runways, opposite T1 is Sheraton Milan Malpensa Airport Hotel & Conference Centre.

Where is Milan Malpensa Airport situated?

The airport is located in the province of Varese, one of the twelve provinces in the Lombardy region, northwest of the city. You can reach Milan Malpensa Airport via exit ‘Marcallo Mesero’ of the A4 motorway and exit ‘Busto Arsizio’ of the A8 motorway.

How many terminals does Milan Malpensa Airport have?

Milan Malpensa Airport consists of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, the latter solely used by easyJet. Terminal 1 is located west and Terminal 2 north of the airport’s runways. In Terminal 1 you will find the A gates (Schengen) and B gates (non-Schengen), the B boarding gates are located in the northernmost of the three concourses. To transfer between both terminals you can take a free shuttle bus running 24 hours a day or the train Malpensa Express, but therefore you need to be in possession of an airline ticket.

Terminal 1 at Milan Malpensa Airport consists of four floors, Arrivals is on the ground floor, Departures on the first floor. Floor -1 gives access to the train station, Sheraton Hotel and the car rental counters. The security check and food court are located in the middle of the terminal between Check-In 11 and 12. The Arrivals hall of Terminal 1 has 10 exits, the taxi rank can be reached via Door 8, the bus stops via Door 4.
