Namibia is a country in southern Africa, it shares borders with Angola, Zambia, Botswana and South Africa. The country has a population of 2.7 million people, the capital Windhoek has approximately 500,000 inhabitants. Namibia is a popular tourist destination, even though prices are on average slightly higher than in neighbouring South Africa. A safari in Etosha National Park is one of the top things to do, it is so popular because of the many wild animals. Namib-Naukluft National Park (Sossusvlei and Deadvlei) in the southwest is one of the most impressive places in Namibia, known for its white clay plains, red coloured dunes and dead trees. The coastline in the north of the country is named Skeleton Coast because of the shipwrecks and whale skeletons along the coast. In the far northeast of Namibia there is an almost four country point, the distance between the borders of Namibia and Zimbabwe is only 150 metres. The biggest airport in the country is Windhoek Hosea Kutako Airport close to the capital Windhoek.
