New York LaGuardia Airport is an international airport in the borough of Queens, close to Manhattan. The airport has undergone a transformation in recent years and is now well received. The opening of the new Terminal B has played an important role, this also applies to the reopening of the new Terminal C. Both terminals are among the most beautiful in the United States. There are three international airports in close proximity to Manhattan, New York: New York JFK Airport, Newark Liberty Airport and New York LaGuardia Airport.
The airport consists of three terminals and two short runways (2 x 2,100 meters). For this reason, large airplanes cannot land and take off, so New York LaGuardia Airport is mainly used for domestic flights and thus American travellers. The airport is located on the water in the borough of Queens, east of Manhattan/Harlem. By car, the airport is accessible via the Grand Central Parkway (GCP), the nearest highway is Interstate 278. Just southeast of the airport you will find Citi Field baseball stadium (New York Mets) and USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center (US Open).
How many terminals does New York LaGuardia Airport have?
The airport has three terminals, known as Terminal A, Terminal B and Terminal C. You can use the On Airport Bus shuttle service if you want to travel between terminals TA, TB and TC. It is not possible to walk between the terminals. American Airlines uses Terminal B, Delta Air Lines is located at Terminal C. Terminal A, also known as Marine Air Terminal (MAT), handles flights operated by low-cost carriers Frontier Airlines and Spirit Airlines. The difference between the old Terminal A and new terminals TB and TC is big, but they all have their charm. Terminal A is a “vintage” terminal with a beautiful mural in the main building (Flight by James Brooks). Terminal B and Terminal C at New York LaGuardia Airport are very modern and fully equipped. After the security check in Terminal B you will get to the boarding gates in Western Concourse and Eastern Concourse. In Terminal C, after the security check, you can get to the boarding gates in one of the four piers (60-69, 70-79, 80-89, 90-99).
