Panama City Pacifico Airport is a former United States military base. Until 1999, the airport was used by the United States Air Force and known as Howard Air Force Base. In 2014, the airport opened its doors for commercial aviation when low-cost carrier Viva Air started operations to and from Panama City Pacifico Airport.
