Charles de Gaulle Airport: A Masterclass in How to Miss Your Flight

I didn’t know an airport could function this badly until I landed at Paris Charles de Gaulle for a layover. Imagine thousands of people funneled into a single, endless snake of a queue because most of the security lanes were just… closed. Not broken, not under maintenance. Just closed, while everyone watched the clock and slowly entered panic mode.
Meanwhile, the staff were moving with the speed and enthusiasm of a herd of sleepy sloths after a heavy lunch. They joked, strolled around, disappeared from their posts for 5–10 minutes for no apparent reason, and certainly didn’t bother to let anyone else step in for them. People were literally begging not to miss their flights; they looked more stressed than the staff, who seemed almost amused by the chaos.
After finally surviving this circus and passing security, I heard a passenger complaining to one of the agents because his AirPods had simply vanished after being sent through the scanner twice. Instead of showing the slightest hint of concern or trying to help, the agent answered with passive-aggressive, unhelpful comments—as if losing your belongings due to staff incompetence while you’re already late is somehow funny.
Passport control was just as shambolic: only two gates open for EU passengers, with dozens and dozens of people in line, inching forward at glacial speed. No information, no organization, no urgency. I travel all over the world for work, and I can honestly say I’ve seen better organization in so-called “third world” countries than in this so-called major European hub.
If you have a choice, do yourself a favor and avoid connecting through CDG. This place feels less like an international airport and more like a social experiment in how far you can push passengers before they completely lose it.

Very negative impact. Not friendly at all. Worst airport of the world. Such a shame for a capital city like Paris to have a third class airport.
You are communicating to the personnel security members that my boarding flight is ongoing and no one is willing to help and let you to go in a fast line even that is not your fault that the bog crowd of people was attended by 2-3 passport check and 300 people waiting...
I will never fly in the future from CDG Paris.
If you have any connection flight you need to count a difference between flights by 3-5 hours.

The worst airport on the planet. It should be convenient to invest on qualified people more than architecture. Embarrassing

Hands down the worst airport experience I have ever had. We missed our layover (our fault, didn’t expect it to take 2 hours to get from one terminal to another), so we rebooked, waited 6 hours AT THE GATE, walked up 10 minutes before our boarding time and was told the plane already left. Absolutely absurd, management needs a serious overhaul this place is an absolute disaster. I’m genuinely astonished a place can be run so poorly. You would think after thousands of reviews saying how awful this place is they would attempt to restructure, but no. Just let the dumpster fire burn. While they make announcements in both French and English, apparently non of them have spoken English since grade school because it is unintelligible. Step it up. If I could give less than a star I would

I'm a disabled persone with Disability Card. My wife and I departed from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport on June 6 flight AF1328 and I want to claim about the bad assistance I received during my stay in the airport. After we checked in, an assistant brought me to the gate by wheelchair and he leaved me in the busy hall, very far from the restroom , bringing away the wheelchair . When they announced the flight, my wife looked for someone who brought me into the plane, she didn't find anyone, so she asked the first employee she saw, who looked for to phone without finding none. Finally, when all the people boarded on the plane, an assistant arrived with the wheelchair and he boarded me. Only after the plane taked off I could go to the plane restroom, 4 hours after my arrive to the airport, because the retard departure of the plane.
