General information

Penang is one of the thirteen states of Malaysia, consisting of the island of Pulau Penang and the mainland of Seberang Perai. Two bridges separate the island from the mainland, the Penang Bridge (13.5 km) and Penang Second Bridge (23.5 km). It is the busiest airport in Malaysia after Kuala Lumpur Airport and Kota Kinabalu Airport. The capital of Penang is the beautiful city of George Town.

The airport is situated in the southeast of Penang Island, in the town of Bayan Lepas, south of George Town. Penang Airport is easily accessible by car via the island’s ring road: Federal Route 6.

How many terminals does Penang Airport have?

The airport has one terminal with three floors: Level 1 Arrivals, Level 2 Departures and Level 3 Airline offices. Arrivals and Departures are both divided into International and Domestic. There is a modern parking garage in front of the terminal. ATMs and currency exchange offices can be found on Level 2 Departures.
