Phuket Airport is the third busiest airport in Thailand, located on the beautiful island of Phuket. Besides operating domestic flights, this airport offers many options for international connections to both Asia and Europe. The airport is mainly used by tourists and handled 18 million passengers in 2019 (55% international, 45% domestic).
Where is Phuket Airport situated?
Phuket Airport is located in the north of the island at some distance from Phuket Town, Patong Beach, Karon Beach and Kata Beach. By road, Phuket is only accessible via Phang-Nga Province using the Sarasin Bridge.
How many terminals does Phuket Airport have?
Phuket Airport has three terminals. The new International Terminal for international flights, the renovated Domestic Terminal for domestic flights and Terminal X for charters. Terminal 1 was put into operation in 2016. The renovated Terminal 2 is the airport’s oldest terminal that is fully operational again since 2018. Terminal X is only used at times when the airport is operating at maximum capacity. This terminal is not connected with the other two terminals.
