Since the opening of the airport, it is possible to travel by public transport, operated by InterBus Región de Murcia. Unfortunately, bus services from and to the airport are very limited. Only a few times a week there is a bus from Región de Murcia Airport to Murcia and Cartagena. The timetable of both bus services is adapted to the flight times at Región de Murcia Airport. Most of the times, however, there is no bus available to take you to Murcia or Cartagena and you will have to take a taxi to your destination. Buses run to Estación de autobuses de Murcia west of the centre of Murcia and Estación de autobuses de Cartagena east of the centre of Cartagena. Travel time from Región de Murcia Airport is 30 minutes to Murcia and 45 minutes to Cartagena. Tickets are available online and from the bus driver, the price for a single journey is € 5.00.
