General information

Shenzhen Bao’an Airport is a modern and busy airport in Guangdong Province. The airport has two runways and one terminal (T3), in 2027 terminals T1 and T2 will be opened. Most flights are operated by China Southern Airlines and Shenzhen Airlines. The Pearl River Delta has three major airports, namely Shenzhen Bao’an Airport, Guangzhou Baiyun Airport and Hong Kong Airport. In 1980 Shenzhen became the first Special Economic Zone of China (SEZ), today it is one of the most modern cities in the country. In addition to a large airport, Shenzhen also has one of the largest ports in the world, bigger than the ports in Guangzhou and Hong Kong.

Shenzhen Bao’an Airport is located in the west of the city, the airport is easily accessible by car via the G4 and G15 highways.

How many terminals does Shenzhen Bao’an Airport have?

The airport has one terminal consisting of two parts, namely Main Terminal (opened in 2013) and Satellite Concourse (opened in 2021). Both are connected by an APM automated people mover. The terminal of Shenzhen Bao’an Airport is also known as Terminal 3. Two new terminals will open in 2027, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
