General information
Skiathos is an island in the Aegean Sea east of mainland Greece and part of the Sporades archipelago. The four largest islands of the Sporades are Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos and Skiros. Of these islands, Skiathos is the most popular with tourists because of the beautiful sandy beaches and the presence of an international airport, namely Skiathos Airport. The island of Skiathos is frequently visited by tourists from the United Kingdom and Scandinavia. Skiathos Airport has two terminals (T1 Domestic and T2 International) and a runway of just 1,628 metres. On the north side and south side (JSI Planespotting) you can see planes landing and taking off from very close by.
