General information

Surabaya Juanda Airport is a large international airport located south of the second-largest city in Indonesia, the city of Surabaya has 3 million inhabitants. The airport consists of one runway and two terminals, known as Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The airport is named after Juanda Kartawijaya, a former Prime Minister of Indonesia. At the airport there is a hotel that offers good value for money, namely Ibis Budget Hotel Surabaya Airport at Terminal 1. A popular destination not far from Surabaya is Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, consisting of Mount Bromo, Mount Batak and Gunung Semeru.

Indonesia’s three busiest airports are Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Bali Ngurah Rai Airport (Denpasar) and Surabaya Juanda Airport.

Where is Surabaya Juanda Airport situated?

The airport is located in the east of Java, south of Surabaya. Juanda International Airport is accessible via Waru–Juanda Toll Road.

How many terminals does Surabaya Juanda Airport have?

The airport has two terminals, namely Terminal 1 Domestic and Terminal 2 International / Domestic. Terminal 1 is to the northeast of the runway, Terminal 2 is to the southwest of the runway. Terminal 2, opened in 2014, is the most modern of the two terminals at Surabaya Juanda Airport. The terminals are not within walking distance of each other. A shuttle bus service is not available, a taxi ride between T1 and T2 takes 15 minutes (8 kilometres / 5 miles).
