General information
The airport is close to Tampere and Nokia, known for the telecommunication company Nokia. However, the headquarters were moved to Espoo close to Helsinki in 2008. Tampere has a population of 250,000 and is the second largest city in Finland.

Tampere Airport is located southwest of the city in the municipality of Pirkkala. The best way to reach the airport is via the the E12 motorway (Finnish national road 3) and ‘Lentoasemantie’ road.
