General information

Techo International Airport is a large and modern airport south of Cambodia’s capital. The new airport, opened on September 9, 2025, is the successor of Phnom Penh Airport (4.75 million passengers in 2024). The airport’s construction came at a cost of 2 billion USD. The title Techo was conferred by the King of Cambodia upon army commanders during the Khmer era. Phnom Penh is the capital of Cambodia, located on the Mekong River and Tonlé Sap River. It’s a busy city with 2.5 million inhabitants and a lot of construction work going on. Cambodia has two major international airports, the other airport is Siem Reap Angkor Airport close to the temples of Angkor.

Where is Techo International Airport situated?

The airport is located south of Phnom Penh in Kandal Province. Techo International Airport is located near National Highway 2. From the airport, you can reach the city of Phnom Penh through the Hun Sen Boulevard.

How many terminals does Techo International Airport have?

Techo International Airport has a modern terminal consisting of a main building and a concourse/pier with boarding gates. The terminal has four floors, the Arrivals hall is on Level 1, the Departures hall on Level 2. Both Level 1 and Level 2 are directly accessible by car. In the Departures hall, you’ll find the check-in desks (Check In Island A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H), a majestic Buddha statue and the security check. Techo International Airport has a capacity of 13 million passengers per year, this capacity is expected to increase to 30 million after 2030 and to 50 million by 2050.
