General information

Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport is the busiest and most important airport in Israel consisting of two terminals (T1 and T3). It is one of the safest airports in the world, mainly used by national airline EL Al, Arkia and Israir Airlines. The old city of Jaffa and the new city of Tel Aviv grown together over time and are now part of the Tel Aviv-Jaffa municipality. Jaffa is the Arabic spelling, Yafo is the Hebrew name.

If you are flying to or from Israel you must take into account strict controls at airports and border crossings, make sure to arrive well in advance (3 hours) at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport. Where is Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport situated?

Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport is located southeast of Tel Aviv and northwest of Jerusalem. By car, it is accessible via Ben Gurion Interchange of the main highway in Israel connecting Tel Aviv and Jerusalem (Highway 1).

How many terminals does Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport have?

There are two terminals at Ben Gurion International Airport, namely T1 and T3. Domestic flights and low-cost flights from airlines as easyJet and Wizz Air usually depart from Terminal 1. The modern Terminal 3, opened in 2004, is intended for all other international air traffic. Since January 1, 2018, Terminal 3 is used for all incoming flights. You can move between the two terminals with a free shuttle bus. The shuttle buses run every 10 to 20 minutes, 24 hours a day.

The beautiful Terminal 3 consists of four floors, namely Level G (Arrivals, train station), Level 1 (Short-Term Parking Vineyard Car Park), Level 2 (Public transport buses) and Level 3 (Departures, gates 1 to 110). In the Departures hall the check-in desks are divided into zones A, B, C and D. There are four concourses with gates at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport, namely B, C, D and E. There is space for an additional pier A.
