The official name of the country is Kingdom of Thailand. The local residents are called Thai, just like the official language. The country is a popular holiday destination, especially among backpackers from all over the world. Tourism is an important source of income. Popular destinations are the cities of Bangkok and Chiang Mai and the islands of Phuket, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao. The two busiest airports in the country are located near the capital of Thailand: Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport and Bangkok Don Mueang Airport. Don Mueang Airport is mainly used by low-cost carriers, i.e. Thai AirAsia, Thai Lion Air and Nok Air.
