Tirana Airport is the only international airport in Albania, it is a small airport named after Mother Teresa. The airport is widely used by Air Albania from Albania, Ryanair and Wizz Air, the owner of the airport is Kastrati Group.
Where is Tirana Airport situated?
The only international airport in Albania is located northwest of Tirana in the village of Rinas. The highways SH1 and SH2 (Tirana – Durrës) are in close proximity to the airport, this makes Tirana Airport easily accessible from the north and west of the country.
How many terminals does Tirana Airport have?
Tirana Airport has a small terminal, divided into an Arrivals hall and Departures hall with 29 check-in desks. Upon arrival, you can withdraw money and buy a SIM card in the Arrivals hall. After the security check you will reach the 7 gates, where you will also find an airport lounge, duty free shop and two bars, one with a smoking area.
The new terminal of Tirana Airport was put into use in 2007, two years later in 2009 the terminal was expanded. Nowadays travellers are very enthusiastic about the small, but modern airport terminal.
