Tokyo Narita Airport, also known as Narita International Airport, is Japan’s second busiest airport. However, in terms of international traffic, it is the busiest airport in Japan, bigger than Tokyo Haneda Airport. The airport is the main international hub of Japan Airlines (JAL) and All Nippon Airways (ANA). Tokyo Narita Airport has two runways and three terminals. The airport is located at a distance of 66 kilometres / 41 miles from the city centre.

Tokyo Narita Airport is located in Narita, east of Tokyo, hence the name of the airport. By car, the airport can be reached via the toll road Higashi-Kantō Expressway (E51), Tokyo Narita Airport is well signposted.
How many terminals does Tokyo Narita Airport have?
Tokyo Narita Airport has three terminals, known as T1, T2 and T3. Terminal 1 consists of a North Wing (two circular satellite buildings: Satellite 1 and 2), Central Building (Satellite 3 and 4) and South Wing (Satellite 5). Terminal 2 consists of a main building and a satellite terminal. Terminal 2 is connected to Terminal 3 via a covered pedestrian walkway (Access Corridor, “running for my flight”). Terminal 3 is used by low-cost carriers. Flights operated by All Nippon Airways depart from Terminal 1, Japan Airlines flights from Terminal 2.
Free shuttle buses take travellers between the terminals, running every 5 minutes between 05:00 hours and 23:00 hours. It is about a 10-minute walk between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, by bus it takes 5 minutes. From Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 it takes 10 minutes by shuttle bus.
