Yogyakarta Airport is a modern airport located in the centre of Java, on the south coast. Opened in 2019, it is known as one of Indonesia’s most beautiful airports, consisting of one runway (3,250 metres) and one terminal. The airport is conveniently located a 1-hour and 20-minute flight from Jakarta and Bali. Yogyakarta Airport attracts many tourists thanks to its location near two of Indonesia’s most renowned landmarks: Borobudur, the largest Buddhist temple in the world, and Prambanan, the largest Hindu temple complex in Indonesia. Downtown Yogyakarta, or Yogya, is accessible by train (Rail Link), bus and taxi.
