One of the most beautiful airports in Europe is located in the municipality of Kloten close to Switzerland’s largest city. Zurich has 415,000 inhabitants and is the financial centre of the country. The airport is the main base for flag carrier Swiss and its subsidiary leisure airline Edelweiss Air. The airport consists of three runways, Terminal 1, Terminal 2, Midfield Terminal, Airport Shopping and The Circle. Zurich Airport is situated north of the city. The airport is near the A51 motorway and can be reached via exit 6 from the south and exit 7 from the north.

Zurich Airport consists of two terminals under one roof, namely Terminal 1 (gates A and gates E) and Terminal 2 (gates B/D). Midfield Terminal (gates E) also known as Dock E is secluded from the airport building (Airside Center), the free Skymetro people mover runs between the two places. Terminal 2 is large and has three floors (Arrivals, Check-in 2 Row 5 and Check-in 2 Row 1/2/3/4), Terminal 1 is smaller and has two floors (Arrivals and Check-in 1). Check-in 3 and the counters of the car rental companies are located in Airport Shopping opposite Terminal 2.
