After arriving at TFS my daughter and i were meet by the most rudest, unhelpful, aggressive and threatening 2 women.
We do this flight every year but seriously thinking of not coming back after our experience today.
The new check in booths are new so we can except a few hiccups but what we dont except is the staffs attitude. Whilst waiting in the queue one of the staff came up to my daughter who is not a child but an adult and abuptly said " and what are you doing", to which my daughter replied "getting in this queue as that one says 3rd world queue", the staff turned to my daughter and said "yes you are 3rd world, are you stupid, thanks to brexit". There was no need for her to do this and even people behind us said how unprofessional that was anyway moved on the next bit , the new booths. My daughters passport clear but mine didnt and this is where the aggressive and threatening behaviour began. I called another lady on duty and explained what had happened and she ignored me so i tried again, my daughter was now waiting on the other side of the barrier, when i called the staff again she very rudely told me i now have to go to the back of the queue and start again, my daughter and i told her i had been in the queue but my passport wasnt registering so why did i need to go to the back of the queue again she told me im not listening to her so now shes TELLING me to go to the end of the queue to which i said politely "look im sorry but its you thats not listening i have done everything the booth has told me to do and all i get is a red cross," she then turned to my daughter and said "you cant stand there the police wont let you(no police in sight)". At this point i have tried my passport 5 times on my own but it still wouldnt go though and everytime i tried to get her to help me she just ignored me totally. I was so near to tears and scared that i would not get through that i felt paniked. Eventually she turned to me and shouted "right, you just go that way and if they call the police it will be your fault as you havent cleared control". When i got to the man in the kiosk he was so lovely and kind so it isnt all the staff just these 2 women
My daughter and i were so appalled at the treatment i recieved. Never ever have we experienced such behaviour at TFS and even our rep and hotel when they ask how we were said that was all they had heard all morning regarding the staff at the border control. These 2 women alone has made a 64yr old lady too scared to return on her own so thank you to both of them.

Absolutely terrible. Do NOT use this airport. The new e-gates are causing havoc - it is taking hours to get through. People are missing flights. Fights breaking out due to frustration with arrests being made. It is a total nightmare

Chaotic passport control, about 30 new tech passport registration booths, about a quater or less were actaully funtional.Airport staff generally disinterested and left passengers to struggle.
Try to avoid at all costs, senior managemet should resign or be sacked

Unfortunately, after ten beautiful and unforgettable days on the island of Tenerife, the day I was about to return at the southern airport, I was assaulted and violently attacked by a ... and fascist during a body search. This person, in complete shamelessness and inhumanity, knowing that I had a pacemaker, inflicted a great mental and physical blow on me with violence and shouting. I realized how racist and ... the people of Espana are. I will soon send a complaint to human rights organizations and bring this ... to trial. You have cruelly caused you to be treated cruelly according to the law, only out of hatred and resentment towards the people of the Middle East.

I spent a very enjoyable week staying at The Catalonia Las Vegas hotel in Puerto De La Cruz
Unfortunately,I then had to fly out of Tenerife south airport
A very long queue at bag drop off,which wasn't actually too concerning
The bad part was going through security. Boarding passes had to be scanned again,then a surly employee shouted out to hurry and put my things in the tray to go through the scanner.The belt wasn't working,so we all had to push the trays,which apparently was my fault
I was remaining calm,as the airport was extremely busy.
Before going through the metal scanner, a female agent shouted at me to take off my hoodie.I later read up on this,basically if an agent feels the item is bulky,potentially hiding something on the body,then it must be taken off.
This was a tight fitting hoodie without pockets.
When I went through the scanner,an alarm sounded,and red lights flashed
I was then told to go and get checked for drug use.My hands and stomach were swabbed.The results were negative,much to the dismay of a different agent,a male this time.I firmly believe I was targeted due to my appearance.Roughly six feet,210 lb,bald,with broad shoulders

I then went from there to the boarding gate,but firstly had to scan my boarding pass again,along with my passport.I had to take my glasses off for this,just in case I was The Jackal,or Jason Bourne,presumably
A totally bored looking employee then stamped my passport
Before reaching the actual departure gate I had my passport checked again for some reason

I boarded my flight at 13.50,take off was scheduled for 14.25
At 14.30 only half of the passengers had boarded the plane.The captain informed us the airport could not cope with the volume of passengers
The plane took off at 15.00

In summary,I was disappointed with the attitude of the security personnel,and the over the top requirements for scanning boarding passes and passports every two minutes.
Leaving the EU has caused issues,of course,but the airport authorities have a big job on their hands in terms of recruitment and training,rather than employing those who want to make travellers suffer

I don't expect much at airport departure lounges, they are all basically the same, a cattle storage area until you can shove the cattle on the plane but not before you've tried to squeeze as much revenue from them as you can.
This is the first airport lounge that hasn't provided a smoking area, we've been forced to be here 4 hours before our flight, our flight will be 4.5 hours long, I refuse to spend 40 quid to be allowed into the vip area just so I can have a smoke, such inconsideration. And an attempt to milk the addicted of as much money as possible bloody shameful

VIP lounge for Very Important People who staff the accessGood morning,

We were at Tenerife airport on Satuday 6th january 2024 at about 13.00 - 14.00..
Our BA flight had been cancelled and in order to get home we had to
accept a seat in economy whereas we had booked club class.

The 2 women on the desk interrogated each and every passenger - leaving a
huge queue behind waiting - until some just had to leave and get their flight.

They would not accept our details clearly on my phone for club class and
refused us entry after about 10 minutes of phone calls, perusals etc.,etc.,

The passenger next to us was being interrogated to such an extent that she
was in tears. Both women on the desk were clearly paranoid, incompetent and
one of them was just sadistic - raising her eyes to heaven,
smiling contemptuously and declaring 'security’ every 5 seconds.

We were refused entry because they said they had not received an email from
British Airways. We found a lovely quiet spot next to our flight departure seats,
ordered a drink and food.

Your VIP lounge is clearly not for passengers but should state more honestly
for 'Very Important People behind the desk’.

We will know next time.

A truly demeaning and humiliating experience.

Any sensible and professional person behind the desk would have said something more true and necessary - we are overflowing because of cancelled flights so simply cannot accept anybody needing to board within the next hour. So sorry about that. But instead they chose to treat us all like potential criminals. Unbelievable experience.

Very long queues on arrival for UK passport holders. Neither enough passport staff nor passport e-gates open.
Much faster process on departure. Got through security quickly. But, on arrival back home we saw our checked-in luggage had been searched. Make-up bags and sponge bags unzipped, left unzipped for contents to spill out all over clothing. It would have taken seconds for them to re-zip them. Case not zipped up properly, missing padlock and luggage strap. No respect or care given
to customers' possessions.

Our hold bags were opened and searched without our permission or presence and items taken. We opened our suitcases at our destination to find the bags had been repacked, my daughters sealed prescription labeled medicine open and 1/3 missing. We were not told our bags had been searched or that items had been removed. If that had been life saving medication it is extremely dangerous to take it without telling us and giving us notice we would need more. If it was a genuine security check, why were we not informed? I really feel our trust has been violated and our daughter endangered by their actions. If this was a legitimate search we should have been informed. Just a disgrace.

One of Europes most horrible airports, crowded, dirty and noisy. Hard to find a seat. Security was unfriendly, almost brutal. I was forced to remove a tight golden bracelet that caused bloddscratches on my hand. After that the very bastant and unfriendly security woman tossed my clothing around, carefully reviewed my boardingcard and passport, telling me to close my mouth.
I travel a lotta and I will never go to Teneriffe again

My two nieces are currently travelling back to the Uk from Reina Sofia. Whilst traversing security they were asked “are you bad girl? Eh?” And another guard shouted at them both “aye,aye,aye”!!! Under no circumstances is this behaviour unacceptable or professional. I don’t care what country you work in, this is disrespectful and disgusting behaviour. Who the hell do Tenerife security “women” think they are? My nieces are not targets for Spanish bullies with their own agendas and I WILL be filing a complaint with the airport authorities. I’m disgusted and angry. No provocative, no justification! Abhorrent behaviour… I would rate minus if I could. They’re sick!

This airport is the worst I have EVER used! Check in and passport control were fine but toilets were disgusting with a 20 minute queue for the ladies. Several toilets wouldn’t flush with soiled toilet paper all over the floor. NO hand drier! Nowhere near enough cafes/eating facilities or seating. Very poor!

Saterday februari 4 in the afternoon we flew with Easyjet back home to the Netherlands.
Our experience with the security staff was very disappointing.
Staff was very unfriendly, not to say rude. If there was any explanation why we had to do anything, it was in very rapid spanish, without any considderation that we do not speak spanish. So, after having waited some time, we were commended to enter the security gates and not immidiately understanding, we were rudely pushed thrue he gate. After I was fed up with this attitude, I made the remark that it would
be much better to explain what was going on, so we could understand, tha lady angrily said that she had explained. Well, we did not notice,..
Think that the management should start managing the staff, to begin with explaining that Tenerife is not the only holiday destination and if it was nor fot the tourists, they would not even have a job!

Just got back from Tenerife and found my suitcase has been ransacked…this is twice. As I arrived into Tenerife I found it on the carousel totally unzipped with someone else’s belt fastened round it. Luckily I had all my valuables in my hand luggage. Now home I’ve opened my suitcase to find all the Birthday cards my family gave me for my daughter and me were opened. Please people be aware and don’t put anything you value in your suitcase. This is clearly an inside job.

I was on a TUI flight home from Tenerife South airport on Tuesday. My suitcase locks had been broken and personal items stolen. If you are flying from this terminal, please be extra careful. Still waiting for a response from TUI :(

A member of security took my wife's expensive watch from her wrist & sent it in a tray through the security scanner. The watch subsequently disappeared & despite a search of the immediate area could not be found. I emailed the airport on my return to the UK to be told that the watch had in fact been found & was in lost property but was told it was my responsibility to get it returned to the UK. A friend of mine was still in Tenerife & agreed to collect it when they arrived at the airport for their return flight home. I emailed an authorisation form & copies of both mine & my friend's passport to the relevant department twice, but they still refused to hand the watch over. They are also not answering my emails asking for an explanation. Total disgrace.

Arrived home tonight into the UK from Tenerife to find that my suitcase has been ransacked. Unsure if anything is missing as of yet..but I feel extremely violated that this has happened. If this is a security issue then some kind of notification should have been placed inside the suitcase to make me aware. Feeling very upset by this incident tonight...6th November 2022..TFS to BRS on a Tui flight.

Great new terminal. Pity about the security staff, so rude. I have never had to remove my hairdryer and straightener before while going through security. Security person asked did I have electronic items in my suitcase, which I didn’t. She pointed to the two items and said I had to go back and remove them and come through again. She just kept shouting at me in Spanish. Not helpful at all. There were no signs saying to remove such items from bags. Horrible experience
